- Health Care Professionals Crossing Borders – Exchange of Information between Competent Authorities: In this policy paper, the CPME expresses its views on the exchange of information on migrating physicians’. Whereas the CPME supports the idea of establishing a well-functioning network between the authorities concerned, CPME states that the information to be exchanged should be limited to convictions that have resulted in sanctions affecting the physician’s right to practise.
- Fighting tobacco: The CPME welcomes the recent institutional and regulatory developments, such as the entry into force of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control, the 31st of May 2005 “World No Tobacco Day” dedicated to health professionals, and the EU-wide “HELP: For a Life Without Tobacco” campaign run by the Commission. CPME also welcomes and encourages national measures aimed at introducing smoke-free legislation. CPME also decided to sign the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.
- CPME Resolution regarding Health and Consumer Protection Budget 2007-2013: This Resolution welcomes the European Commission’s proposal for a new EU programme for Health and Consumer Protection, which would allocate close to 1 billion EURO to health for the period 2007-2013.
