Save Lives, Clean Your Hands : update and tools
Launched on 5 May this year, the WHO Patient Safety initiative SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands is going on. The aim is to have 10,000 hospitals signed up by May 2010. To date, over 5700 hospitals worldwide have registered their commitment to this initiative and to using the WHO tools to improve hand hygiene at the bedside. Tis represents over four million staff and over 1.7 million hospital beds globally.
All the tools and-resources developed to help improve infection control are available on the-website at: http://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/tools/en/index.html.
Some of these tools include hand hygiene borochure, poster, tools as reminders in the workplace, tools for evaluation and feedback.
